Pickle producer Best Maid sweet on Weaver’s audit services

Fourth-generation, family-owned company Best Maid Products, Inc. (www.bestmaidproducts.com) produces pickles, dressings and condiments under the Best Maid and Del-Dixi brand names. The company, headquartered in Fort Worth, sells its products to retail chain grocery stores, food distributors and restaurants throughout the southwest.

After many years of having his company’s audit handled by a large, national accounting firm, company President Brian Dalton grew increasingly dissatisfied with the level of service he was receiving.

“We decided to start looking at other audit firms, primarily because we were concerned that the larger national firms were no longer capable of providing value,” Dalton recalled. “Essentially, their fee structures had become biased towards protecting themselves, rather than working toward providing real value to us.”

So when a postcard landed on his desk highlighting the assurance services offered by Weaver—as well the firm’s emphasis on building long-term relationships and delivering outstanding service—it caught Dalton’s eye.

The prior year’s audit [with our previous firm] had been somewhat abrasive, causing me to think, ‘this is my business, the audit should not be like this.’ I decided I needed to investigate making a change.”

No one at Best Maid had any prior experience with Weaver, notes Dalton. “The card in the mail was a blessing,” he says.

“The audit process with Weaver has been wonderful,” Dalton continues. “There is consistency in staff, and each year the people are already familiar with our business, which makes the whole experience run smoothly. Everyone is nice and friendly and a pleasure to work with.”
