It is one of the largest independent certified public accounting firms in the nation, ranked the largest regional independent accounting firm in the Southwest by Practical Accountant magazine, and is also ranked among the top 50 accounting firms in the nation by Public Accounting Report, with annual revenues of greater than $50 million.  Weaver has locations throughout Texas, with over 400 staff members, including more than 320 accountants and consultants. Membership with Baker Tilly International (Baker Tilly is a trademark of the UK firm Baker Tilly UK Group LLP, used under license) allows for service delivery nationwide and worldwide.

Weaver provides clients in all industries with comprehensive services, including: assurance services, tax and strategic business services and financial advisory services. Weaver's client base includes private and publicly held business enterprises, local governments, municipalities, nonprofits and individuals.

Weaver's success has led to the creation of the Weaver Private Foundation, designed to effectively evaluate charitable contribution requests received by the Firm.

History

Weaver was founded on February 1, 1950, by Lloyd J. Weaver and D. Wayne Tidwell. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, the Firm established an office in Dallas in the 1960s. In the late 1980s, leadership of the Firm shifted from the founding partners to W.M. (Mack) Lawhon. Under his direction, the Firm has undergone rapid expansion through internal growth as well as the completion of numerous mergers, including the addition of offices in Austin, Houston and San Antonio. In 2009, Firm leadership shifted to Tommy D. Lawler, CPA, who remains the Firm’s CEO and managing partner.
